FROM WAX TO SILVER
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CASTING

WHAT you can EXPECT
- Learn the basic techniques of lost wax casting – one of the oldest known metal forming processes, dating back up to 6,000 years
- At our first appointment, you can model one or more models out of wax – various wax modelling techniques will be taught
- You can create whatever you want – there are no limits to your creativity
- We will then send the wax model to be cast in silver
- At our second appointment, you will do the finishing and final touches to your model, now cast in silver
- We can gold-plate the piece of jewellery for you afterwards for around €45,-
- There will be breaks in between, with coffee, tea, fresh fruit and small snacks available. During the lunch break, you can eat at one of the nearby restaurants.
- A small and select group with a maximum of 5 participants
- Cost: €420,- including meals / Duration: 2 x 4 hours / Material costs approx. €2,50,- per gram of silver
Who is this workshop for?
- The basic workshop is suitable for all ages; however, for safety reasons, participants must be at least 16 years old.
- It is for anyone who enjoys working with their hands or is simply curious to explore this craft
- No previous knowledge of goldsmithing is required: basic skills will be taught at the Summer School
- If you already have some goldsmithing-experience, the Advanced Workshop could be interesting – please get in touch with us to find out which Workshop setting fits best for your experience and expertise
- This is a wonderful opportunity for all those who would like to get creative in our studio, enjoy the moment, slow down through crafting, and learn something new in the process.
