Goldsmithing Basics

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We will begin with a design process, during which you can create a sketch or build a paper model. Afterward, we will review the feasibility of the design together and plan its implementation.
We will work in silver and you decide what you want to create – a ring, pendant or earrings
Introduction to materials, techniques, tools and the workshop
Preparation and further processing of the material by wire drawing and bending, sheet metal rolling, punching and sawing shapes, etc.
Creation of different surface structures using hammering and other techniques
Personalization of the piece of jewellery with letters
We can goldplate the piece of jewellery for you afterwards for €50
We will make some breaks in between, where we provide coffee, tea, fresh fruit and small snacks. During the lunch break you can visit one of the surrounding restaurants.
Small group with a maximum number of 5 participants
Costs: €820 incl. materials and snacks / Duration: 3 days

For whom is the SUMMER SCHOOL?

The summer school is suitable for all ages; however, for safety reasons, participants must be at least 16 years old
It is for anyone who enjoys working with their hands or is simply curious to explore this craft
No previous knowledge of goldsmithing is required: basic skills will be taught at the Summer School
If you already have some goldsmithing-experience, please get in touch – you can also apply to further develop your skills at the Summer School
This is a wonderful opportunity for all those who would like to get creative in our studio, enjoy the moment, slow down through crafting, and learn something new in the process.
